Harry Caray makes the first ever baseball call

My love for the Chicago Cubs knows no bounds, in large part because I have spent many summer days listening to Harry Caray call Cubs games on WGN. My inculturation into Cubs-culture can fairly be said to have been through Harry’s always-entertaining calls. It’s hard to imagine that he’s been gone now for ten years.

So I was especially glad to learn that there’s a clip of Harry actually providing the first ever call for a baseball game. Click on the “play” button below.

Thanks for some great memories! When I first heard Harry I thought "who is this idiot" and then after listening for awhile he became the cubs in my mind.
